Film and Video
On this page you can find some of the music and video/film projects in which I have been involved. Although I have always loved to play live, I am exploring the fusion of music and film as a new medium with which to share my music. On this page you will find a few current works, collaborations with with my partner who is a photographer and cinematographer.
moving through darkness
I wrote this piece about a time when I was alone, flying north in the middle of the night. Recorded in my home studio :)
And fires burn against the darkened sky
Can you be lost in a moment and still see the stars? Filmed in Hamilton, Ontario, on the coldest day of the year, and up in Northern Ontario where the sky is clear and you can see forever... literally..

Dark was the Night
Dark was the Night - a haunting piece of music composed by Blind Willie Johnson from Beaumont, Texas, in 1927. One of the first pieces I taught myself on slide guitar. My own arrangement.

A Beckoning
In the Westdale neighbourhood in Hamilton, Canada there is a beautiful Craftsman-era United Church where we recorded this video. A Beckoning came to me on a cold December evening during the Great Pandemic. Can music be both welcoming and uncertain?

Solitude
Solitude, another piece from Sanctum, evokes in me an almost uneasy sense of moving forward, unsure of where I am going but nevertheless compelled to keep going. Filmed in a pristine forest on Northern Ontario's Manitoulin Island, this montage of music and film brings me back to the moment when this music first came to me.
